I installed D2010 (RTM) on a virtual machine using my original serial (Professional version). I started D2010 once to make DD starting. After checking the "remove license check" I run D2010 .... doesn't work, the registration wizard appears saying that D2010 isn't registered. What made I wrong??

You should use in the installation the serial that Distiller says. If you dont want to reinstall, try using the button Clear Embarcadero licenses, then click OK to apply the crack again.

Does that mean that DD only works with the serial provided with DD? I'm asking because my D2007-serial worked fine with DD

That is because the D2007 crack is completely different. The D2010 crack is more complex and needs to install on your computer a license file that should match the serial.
